  • My night with Lee Marvin: reading my poems at the Dark Horsey Bookshop, Tuesday 18 September 2012

I was thrilled to be invited to read at the Lee Marvin readings last Tuesday (18 September).

Other readers on the evening included Nicholas Jose, Doug Mason and Canberra-based poet Geoff Page.

Here are some images from the evening, including me in action. All of these were taken by Martin Christmas (himself a writer, theatre director and showman). Thank you Martin!

Me with Doug Mason (who read some of his lovely Haikus).

  • On community ray-dee-oh

Last Friday (14 September) I had a guest spot on ‘Chill the Friday Out’, a fabulous late-night community radio program at PBA FM. It was a last-minute invite so I didn’t have time to post the link here!

The program is hosted by producer and all-round musical talent Stefan Todor.

I read five of my poems and of course I had great fun!

There is a tiny chance that I may post the video to YouTube (Robert recorded me). I’ll let you know if/when I post it!

  • One of my poems published today in InDaily

What a nice cheer-me-up: my poem ‘Damp gossip’ is published today in InDaily.

    Read it here.

    Thank you, InDaily.

  • Hear me read my poems on Writers’ Radio: podcast now available for download

Last year (19 and 21 November) I read a few poems on Cath Kenneally’s Writers’ Radio program (digital radio, online and 101.5FM).

I’ve just noticed that the podcast is now available to download from the website.

Here’s a direct link to the podcast.

I start around the 20-minute mark.

  • Poem of the month award from Friendly Street Poets: thank you

I am surprised, pleased and very grateful: my poem ‘I will not mourn you’ is Friendly Street Poets poem of the month for April.

    You can read it here.

  • Hear me on Radio Adelaide’s Writers’ Radio program

I will be reading a few as yet unpublished poems and chatting with Cath Kenneally on the Writers’ Radio program (digital radio, online and 101.5fm) at 1.30pm tomorrow (Sat 19 Nov). The program will be repeated at 3.30pm on Monday (21 Nov).

The program will then be available as a podcast to download for your listening pleasure here.

  • I’m an 11-word winner on 11/11/11

Yesterday (11/11/11) I won the Sydney Writers’ Centre
11-word story competition, which I entered at the, umm, 11th hour (sorry!).

    My 11-word winner was this:

She took 11 minutes to regain consciousness. She forgave him again.

You can read all the great entries here.

Thank you Sydney Writer’s Centre. I’m looking forward to receiving my prize (a selection of books).

    What fun!

  • Buy my poetry collection AND support a worthy cause

Remember, if you buy my latest poetry collection, Lead Skeletons, you are also supporting Ovarian Cancer Australia, who receives 10% of the sale price of each copy.

There are still a few numbered copies of Lead Skeletons left, so don’t miss out.

Support this worthy charity now… you can purchase from the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of this screen, or you can go to White Wave Press and buy from there.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Australian launch of Lead Skeletons

Here are a few fun photos from the fab Australian launch of my book Lead Skeletons on Friday 6 August 2010.

…me sayin’ a few words before reading some poems…
…talented poet Jude Aquilina launches my book, Lead Skeletons…
    …Trish M, Jude and me.
    …havin’ some fun…
    …and some more.

A big thank you to all who supported me, who came along to the launch, and who bought books.

And another reminder that 10% of the sale price of each book will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Australia: a worthy cause.
